Welcome to Sagacity `11
Adventure, isn't hanging on a rope off the side of a mountain... It is an attitude that defines the way we see the simplest of things... It is the thirst to explore new horizons and discover our own unique potential... It is with this spirit of adventure that we present to you the 8th version of Sagacity.

It's amazing how Sagacity, which was but a seed seven years back has blossomed and carved a niche for itself as being one of its kind in the city. A two day technical celebration organised by the department of BSc.(IT) and BSc.(CS), Vivekanand Eduaction Society's College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Chembur(Mumbai). Sagacity is all set to quake the campus with its mind blowing events and the happening canopies. An event that intends to blur the line separating a technical event and a campus gala giving you the best of both worlds. Through Sagacity we seek to bring fore the refreshing and phenomenal ideas that would otherwise remain lost in those long forgotten coffee table conversations.
Right from Debugging to newer inceptions Robotics and The Web-O-Search (Web Search) along with the plethora of technical events ranging from programming to web designing, all of them exhibit a feel of innovation that has been longed for in college fests.

Sagacity is back this season to heat up the competition.

This Years Theme : Anti-Corruption
                                                     ...Drain not the ignorance

Corruption is the greatest obstacle  to reducing poverty
It distorts the rule of law, weakens a nation's institutional foundation,
and severely affects the poor who are already the most disadvantaged
members of our society...
more than 45% of Indians had first-hand experience of paying bribes to get
jobs done in public offices successfully.
In the wake of such apathy, India’s middle class, which is projected to grow
to 583 million by 2025, is finally asserting itself as a political force to be
reckoned with, especially in urban areas. And the key demand they are
making of their leaders is accountability.
Five ways to overcome corruption:

  1. Common man needs to reform: The common man is himself immoral,
unjust and corrupt and wants shortcuts to everything. He wants
things done out of turn and breeds corruption. The common man
should have the moral courage to expose those who demand bribes.

  2. System needs reform: Knowledge is power. Only a high standard
of education can empower the people. Telephone numbers of
anti-corruption bureau officials should be well-publicised, so that people
    can contact them when needed.

  3. Media the only weapon to unmask the corrupt. The common man
should curb his greed to seek favours and instead banish and condemn
corrupt officials through the media and various grievance cells.

  4. Fire the corrupt: People often prefer  giving money to get their work done
in an hour or two  over waiting in queues all day long. The only way out is to
adopt the hire-and-fire policy as followed by private companies.
Promotions of government staff should be based on feedback from the
    public.

  5. Transparency is vital: Complete transparency throughout the government
    functioning should be maintained.
